There are many different variations of online slots, but of particular note are video slots. This type has many different variations in itself. Unlike some other traditional online slots, video slots do not require you to play max bet unless a progressive jackpot is offered. Playing max lines might be a good idea, but a max bet is often not necessary, as you can often bet more than one coin in a line.
To illustrate this point, a 20-line slot with a bet of 10 coins per line usually has a max bet of 200 coins. Even playing with the penny coin sizes will result in $2 a spin. In most instances one coin per line is perfectly fine and you can play for as low as 20 per spin. A drawback to this however, is that your jackpots won’t be as high, because your wins are multiplied by your bet per line. An online slots game with a 10,000 coin jackpot and a max bet of 10 coins per line will then pay a 100,000 coins win at maximum bet. Playing with one coin per line will in turn only result in a 10,000 coin jackpot. That is the trade off between a low bet and a bigger win.

In classic online slots, it is not always necessary to bet the maximum amount allowed. In many cases however, betting max will often result in a good reward. Online slots may pay 1,000 for one coin, for example, and 2,000 for two coins and 5,000 for the maximum allowable bet of three coins. As you can see then, adding even just one coin may win you an additional 3,000.
Buy A Pay slots are one type of classic slots that require a maximum bet. There are typically two or three different pay tables, with each coin activating an additional pay table. Playing with anything less than max bet will not allow you to win any of the top prizes even if you do hit the correct symbols.
In contrast, progressive slots absolutely require a max bet in order for you to qualify for the top prize. If you bet less than the maximum amount, you will not be able to win the top jackpot.
Ideally, you shouldn’t really play progressive slots if you do not intend to place a max bet. Otherwise, you may hit the highest winning combination and still not win anything. You may receive a small consolation prize but that’s not why you came to play the game, is it?

First of all, this is not a how-to on winning at online slots all the time like so many other articles on the Internet claim to do. We would like to tell you at the outset that it is simply impossible to win at the slots every single time. It is possible however to greatly increase your likelihood of walking away from online slots with a fair bit of cash in the bank.
The first thing to do is to decide how much money you are willing to risk in the course of the game. Once you have decided on the amount stick to it at all costs and never try to secure a win by spending more.
At this point it is all up in the air and you simply have to play and hope for the best. If you do hit a jackpot, then you should cash out immediately. A lot of players who lose on the slots actually keep playing after winning until they lose everything they have won. Obviously the longer you play the greater your chances of losing.
Finally, it would help to keep in mind that the main reason for playing online slots is to have a good time. If you do win however, that just makes it all the more enjoyable.
